GENEROSITY
Inseparable from the Prix d’Amérique, synonymous with a meeting full of human kindness. Operation 2012: support for the "Les Blouses Roses" association, whose mission is to entertain and comfort sick people of all ages in hospital. 70% of paying admissions at the racecourse will be donated to the association, as will profits from the sale of the Prix d’Amérique Marionnaud T-shirt..
THE SPORT
Trotters are real athletes with remarkable abilities: average speed in a trotting race: 52 kph with explosive top speeds of around 60 kph in straight stretches. High-level racing of this sort requires 2,500 hours of training per year for a trotter. The drivers are genuine pilots and talented strategists, with a considerable feel for racing. The Prix d’Amérique Marionnaud is the exhilaration of experiencing a magnificent sporting occasion.
THE EVENT
A unique international meeting that is both high-status and extremely popular. Media coverage in three continents and 30 countries, attracting millions of television viewers. Around the main track: an exceptional set-up of over 20 cameras, meaning total enjoyment with guaranteed thrills.
THE RACE
Impressive. Pits the world's 18 top high-flyers against each other. Classic distance: 2700 metres. Raises excitement to white-hot heat in the stands, unleashes passions, generates record bets. Created in 1920 in honour of the United States' entry into the first World War. Elite race with a prize of €1 million.
THE CROWDS
A fanatical turnout. Whipped to a frenzy towards the start of the race. 40,000 spectators expected, with plenty of celebrities. Active presence of a number of devoted fan clubs.
THE SPONSOR
For the past 11 years not only because its founder loves horses, but also because the Prix d’Amérique is a prestigious and popular meeting, the brand has lent its name to the most outstanding trotting race in the world organised by Le Cheval Français: the Prix d’Amérique Marionnaud. It is an event that remains a symbol of sharing for the brand, enabling everyone to realise their dreams and achieve genuine feats. This year, alongside the race itself, the Marionnaud stores will be selling a glittering make-up bag designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada on behalf of the Les Blouses Roses association..
