THE QUALIFYING RACES - THE 4 BS
The Prix d'Amérique Marionnaud is preceded by
4 qualifying races during which the competitors acquire points according to their results. These races, known as the "4 Bs" take place
between 19th november and 15th january.
THE OTHER QUALIFYING RACES:
The winners of two other races are also given priority to participate in the Prix d'Amérique Marionnaud :
Talent, speed and records: because over the 2,700 metres of the race, athletes with exceptional sporting abilities compete with each other for a prize worth one million Euros.
Plus de
Over 2,500 hours of training per year. Average speed of
52 kph.
Bursts of speed of over
60 kph in the home stretch.
THE REGULATIONS PROVIDE AS FOLLOWS:

Contenders for the Prix d'Amérique Marionnaud can
take part in the four races. enabling them to size up the others' abilities and thus increase their chances of winning the actual race.
At the end of the "4 Bs", the
first six in the ranking are priority candidates for the Prix d’Amérique Marionnaud.
Scale of points: 12 points to 1st place
6 points to 2nd place
4 points to 3rd place
2 points to 4th place
1 point to 5th place
In the event of a tie, the horses with the highest winnings are chosen. (*)
